College 101 - FAQs
Q: What is College 101 (SD1021)?
A: According to the Crichton College Catalog, College 101 “is a weekly, one-hour seminar course that provides extended orientation, acclimation, and resources during the initial semester at Crichton College to equip students for success in their college and post-graduate experience. This one-credit course, offered on a P/F basis, affords first-time-in-college students the opportunity to practice methods necessary for college success under the guidance of knowledgeable instructor/facilitators, faculty advisors, and other College staff members.”
In plain English, College 101 is a course designed to provide first-time-in-college students with the skills, resources, and knowledge to adjust successfully to College life. Students will learn about the college experience, become familiar with and connected to campus life at Crichton, and learn more about themselves and their world.
Q: Who is enrolled in College 101?
A: All first-time-in-college traditional day students with 0-12 credit hours.
Q: Where does it meet?
A: The first few class meetings will be in the Iles Auditorium. After that, please follow your syllabus.
Q: What if I registered early and my schedule shows a different location for the class?
A: Just come to the Auditorium—we will all be there!
