Andre Chapman, who begins his second season coaching for the Comets is a native of Newton, Mississippi, where he graduated from Newton High School. While at Newton, he was a 4 year letterman in basketball and track. He helped the Newton Tiger Track Team win back to back District titles in class 3A in 1991 and 1992. Andre went to the state meet in 1992 and finished 3^rd in the 800 meters.  A talented musician, Chapman went on to Mississippi Valley State University as one of the top drummers in the state band. He was also a member of the Delta Devils track team, which competed in the Southwestern Athletic Conference.  Andre is the director of the Hill Chapel Baptist Sports Ministry in Memphis, where he recently organized their first ever summer basketball league.

            Andre holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and completed the Federal Law Enforcement Training Academy in Glynco, GA. He is currently working on a MAR from Liberty University Theological Seminary. Andre brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership skills to Crichton that will benefit the inaugural Crichton Comets Women’s Cross Country Team.
