Men's Soccer Sign's Local Player

April 25, 2008 Jeremy Iwaszkowiec, Head Coach for Crichton College Men’s Soccer Program, announced the signing of Casey Long. Long is from Bartlett, TN and is the son of Carl and Vicki Long.

Casey is a gifted athlete who has played a wide variety of sports in the Memphis area including soccer, basketball, and baseball. He is graduating as a homeschooler through Faith Heritage Christian Academy’s off campus program.  Other than the above sports he enjoys a variety of hobbies including frisbee, fishing, and hunting.  Further, he won the Christian Character Award four consecutive years while playing for the FCA Nighthawks basketball team.

His most recent soccer accomplishments include playing for the Memphis Football Club, coached by Richard Bute. Coach Iwaszkowiec is excited to have Casey join the Comets and believes he will be a tremendous asset to the men's team: “Coach Bute does a tremendous job of preparing soccer players for the demands of college athletics. Casey brings a high level of energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism to the pitch every time he laces up his boots.  I am excited to have him on the squad and look forward to his impact on and off the field.”
