Memphis,
TN – October 9, 2006 - Crichton College's
Men's Soccer team stayed in Memphis Monday for a cross
town road game against Rhodes College. Rhodes set the
tone early and jumped out to a one goal lead at the
beginning of the first half. From that point on the
Comets were forced to play catch up. Rhodes added a
second goal late in the half and Crichton went into the
intermission down 2. The second half was much the same
as Rhodes added another goal early leaving Crichton in
search of some offense. Offense would come in the last
15 minutes as Joseph Doherty scored two quick goals to
bring Crichton to within one. Rhodes answered back with
a late goal of their own to put what would have been an
incredible comeback out of reach for the Comets.
Crichton drops their record to 1-9-1 on the season and
are still in search of their first ever road win. Joseph
Doherty improves his goal total to 8 on the season with
team high 17 total points.
