Crichton College’s Men’s
Basketball team has made history, breaking into the
NAIA’s Top 25 Men’s Basketball Poll for the first
time ever. The Comets who are competing in their
first season in the NAIA have spent the majority of
the year receiving votes for the Top 25, but were
able to break into the poll on the strength of a
three game wining streak including two wins over
ranked opponents. Crichton knocked off #7 Trevecca
Nazarene University, and #5 Union University in the
span of five days on their way to the top spot in
the TranSouth Conference. The Comets now sit #13 in
the nation and #1 in the TranSouth Athletic
Conference with four games remaining on the season.
Crichton will play their final regular season home
game Thursday night at the Mid-South Coliseum
against Conference foe Martin Methodist College. The
Comets will then finish up their season with a three
game road trip and an opportunity to build on an
unprecedented inaugural campaign in the NAIA.
