Comets To Play Home Games at Streets

September 8, 2006 – Crichton College Athletic director and Head Basketball Coach Jeff Walker is pleased to announce a partnership between Comet Athletics and Memphis’ Streets Ministries. The Comets Men’s basketball team will play their 14 game home schedule at Streets’ newly opened 4.2 million dollar community outreach center and will partner with Streets to reach out to the city of Memphis.  The facility is located at 430 Vance Ave adjacent to the FedEx Forum and Foote Homes. It is primarily used as an outreach ministry center for the youth of the Foote and Cleaborn Home communities. Crichton will expand the seating capacity to accommodate over 1000 fans for Comet basketball games. According to Walker, “This is an exciting time for Crichton Basketball which should be poised to compete for an NAIA national championship. This new partnership with Streets should keep this venue at or over capacity as fans gather to see Crichton’s exciting style of basketball.”
