January 27, 2005Crichton College Signs Second State Tourney MVP. Melvin Wilkes has signed a letter of intent to play for Crichton College. Wilkes played at Jackson State Community College for Coach Deron Hines. As a freshman in the 2002-2003 season, Wilkes led the T.J.C.A.A. and N.J.C.A.A. region VII in assists at 8.3 assists per game.
