Memphis, TN – March 4, 2008 - The Crichton Comets men's basketball team advanced to the Quarter Finals of the TranSouth Conference Tournament with a big win over Blue Mountain College tonight at Streets Ministries Arena. The Comets led the entire first half outscoring the Toppers by 36 points. At the end of the half the score was 62-26 Comets.

The Comets came out in the second half and continued to build on their first half lead. The Toppers were never able to close the gap shooting only 33% from the field, 13% from behind the arc and making 40% of their field goals. At the final buzzer, the Comets had defeated the Toppers by a score of 111-47, and secured a place in the Quarter Finals of the TranSouth Conference Tournament.

Sylvania Watkins was the only Comet to score a double double with 12 points and 11 rebound. Four other Comets scored in double figures. Stanley Brownlee had 27 points and 8 rebounds, Emanuel Wimbush scored 17 points with 2 rebounds, DemarioChaffin scored 14 points and 4 rebounds, and Michael Sapp scored 10 points with 8 rebounds.

Final Score: Crichton 111 - Blue Mountain 47
