Mayfield, KY – February 7, 2008 - The Comets took to the road tonight to take on the Cougars of Mid-Continent University. The Comets were looking to improve on their 7-6 conference record, and that's exactly what they did. The Comets led throughout the first half and went into the locker room with a 10 point lead. At the half the score was 37-27.

In the second half, the Comets came out and continued to increase their lead by as much as 15 points. The Cougars rallied back and cut the lead to 9 before the Comets would take back control of the game. At the final buzzer, the score was 82-69. The Comets had defeated the Cougars in conference play and improved 14-10 overall and 8-6 in the TranSouth Conference.

The Comets had four players scoring in double figures. Stanley Brownlee had a double-double for the night with 18 points and 10 rebounds, Emanuel Wimbush had 16 points and 5 rebounds, Sylvania Watkins had 13 points and 9 rebounds, and Rico Seay scored 11 points and had 5 assists.
