Little Rock, AR – November 21, 2007 - Crichton
College's Men's basketball team lost Wednesday night in their second meeting of the season with
Philander Smith College on the road. The Comets dominated the first half with the Panthers only having the lead once early in the half. At the end of the first half the Panthers had come back and tied the game up 39-39.
In the second half the Comets were unable to make their shoots fall shooting only 35% from the field. The Panthers took advantage outscoring the Comets and having as much as an 18 point lead midway through the second half. The Comets tried to make a run but were unable to overcome the Panthers lead. When the buzzer sounded the Comets had been defeated by the Panthers 80-90.
Three players scored in
double figures for the Comets with
Stanley Brownlee leading the way with 23 points and 10
rebounds. Michael Sapp and Zarko Brankovic both had 11 points with Sapp having 8 rebounds. Derek Boykin had 9 assists. Philander Smith's Darren Jamison had 18 points for the night.
