– November 19, 2006 - Crichton
College's Men's basketball team improved their winning
streak Monday in a road victory over Fisk
University. In the first half, the Bulldogs were able to keep the score close. The score was tied twice in the first ten minutes but after the 7:15 mark the Comets continued to hit bucks and increasing their lead by as much as 11 points with 3:07 minutes left in the half. At the end of the first half the Comets led the Bulldogs by 9 with a score of 47-38.
The second half was much the
same as Crichton added to their lead scoring in bunches.
Crichton kept the lead throughout the second half. The Comets built a 42 point lead on a 3 pt. goal scored by Demario Chaffin off an assist by Sylvania Watkins with 3:17 remaining. As the game ended
Crichton lead by 42 and picked up their second straight
win of the season.
Sylvania Watkins led the scoring with 21 points and 16 rebounds his first double double this season. Stanley Brownlee also scored a double double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Michael Sapp (14)
Derek Boykin (13) Dontaye Hinton (14) and Demario Chaffin (13) rounded out the
double figure scoring for the Comets. Crichton
out-rebounded the Bulldogs by 40 and shot 62%
from the field including 42% from behind the arc and making 69% of their free throws..
