Memphis, TN – January 23, 2008- Crichton
College's Men's basketball team picked up their third Conference win in a row tonight against Bethel College. The Comets jumped out to an early five point lead and forced the Wildcats to play catch up. The Wildcats responded and the score would be tied up five times before the Comets gained control of the lead and put the Comets up for good.
The Comets came out in the second half and extended the first half lead to 13, but the Wildcats continued to fight back defensively cutting the lead to 2 with 13:52 minutes left in the half. The Comets came back and took control of the game building their lead by as much as 16 points with 2:11 minutes left in the game. As the final buzzer sounded the Comets secured a 13 point victory, and their fifth Conference win of the season.
Stanley Brownlee led four Comets in double figures with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Emanuel Wimbush scored 16 points, Rico Seay scored 13 and Michael Sapp scored 10. Derek Boykin scored 9 points and had 5 assists on the night.
Final Score: Crichton 94 - Bethel 81
