University. Union jumped out to an early 10-0 lead and
looked as if they would be to tough for the Comets to
handle. Crichton began to dig their way out of the early
hole and got as close as 4 on a Jonathan Loe three
pointer with 6:27 remaining on the clock but the first
half would belong to Union. The Bulldogs led by as many

for intermission.
In the
second half Crichton was forced to play catch up and
were not successful for the first 16 minutes. Union
enjoyed their largest lead of 14 at the 12:24 mark but
the Comets would not go away. From that point Crichton
went on a monster 35-11 run that would ultimately be the
dagger in a hard fought game. During that span of nearly
12 minutes the Comets held Union to only 3 field goals.
Also during that stretch Derek Boykin came alive
accounting for 22 of the Comets 35 points. Boykin poured
in 16 points, including three 3 pointers, dished out
three assist and had one steal. With 31 seconds left in
the game the lead grew to 10 for Crichton, however Union
would make a game of it. During the final 17 seconds
Union would cut the lead to 5 on the strength of three 3
pointers. Crichton went 6-6 from the line late to hold
off the # 5 team in the nation, and solidify there place
as the number one team in the TranSouth. The Comets now
control their own destiny for the home stretch of the
conference season .
