Memphis, TN
– January 20, 2007 - After two straight conference losses, the Crichton Comets #21 ranked Men's Basketball team returned to Memphis to pick up thier fifth conference win of the season. The Mid-Continent University Cougers came into Streets looking to pick up a conference road win. In addition the Comets went into this tough game without leading scorer Sylvania Watkins and starting point gaurd Melvin Wilkes.
The first half went back and forth with the Cougers matching the Comets basket for basket. The Comets went into the locker room with a 40-38 lead, shooting 38% from the field and 39% beyond the arc. The second half, much like the first, was back and forth, but the Comets started to pull away late, building a 20 point lead and never looking back. The Comets had four players scoring in double figures. Stanley Brownlee had a game high 22 points and pulled 11rebounds, Demario Chaffin with a season high 15 points, and Bohana and Brankovic both scored 12 points a piece. Zach Sims lead the Cougers in scoring with 14 points. The Comets improve to 13-6 overall and 5-2 in the TranSouth Conference.
