  TranSouth Conference Champions

Memphis TN – February 24, 2007 -Crichton College #21 ranked Men's basketball team stamped their ticket to Kansas City as they won the TranSouth Conference tonight with a 79-60 victory over Cumberland University. The night would start as Crichton honored their seniors Deshawn Danzey and Melvin Wilkes. From the tip the Comets seemed to control the game never letting Cumberland get any momentum. With a Wilkes three pointer at the buzzer, Crichton took a 37-35 point lead into the locker room.

In the second half the Comets pressed and gave the Bulldogs trouble. They forced turnovers and seemed to cause frustration for Cumberlands offense. The Comets would lead by 16 with less than 10 minutes to go, but the Bulldogs would cut it to 11. That would be as close as they would come as the Comets win their final game of the regular season 79-60. Crichton was led by Sylvania Watkins with 26 points and 11 rebounds. Brownlee also had a double-double with 16-10. Bohanna would chip in 10 points in the victory as well. Senior Melvin Wilkes had 12 assists in the contest. Now that the nets are cut down, Jeff Walker and his Comets prepare for the Conference tourney. Crichton ends the regular season with a 23-7 overall record and 15-3 in the TSAC.
