July 31, 2007 – Coach Brandon Rowan signed Freshman recruit, Alan Wright, to play baseball for the Comets. Alan, son of David and Brenda Wright, is a native of Olive Branch, MS and attended Desoto Central High School and played baseball for Coach Shane Faulkner. While at Desoto Central, Alan was named to the 1st Team All-Conference in 2006 and 2007.

His last season's batting average was a .400 with 2 HR's and 30 RBI's. He has a career batting average of .380.

Alan will be a valuable asset to the Comet infield in the 2008 season.
