Memphis, TN, February 23-24, 2008  – The Crichton College Baseball team took on McKendree University this weekend at home in a double header on Saturday and a game on Sunday. By the bottom of the sixth inning the Comets had a 3 run lead on the Bearcats scoring 1 run in the first and fifth innings and 2 in the sixth making the score 4-1 Comets. In the top of the seventh the Bearcats scored 4 runs defeating the Comets 4-5.

In the second game, the score was tied up 0-1 at the end of 5 innings of play in favor of the Bearcats. In the top of the sixth inning, the Bearcats scored 8 runs to go ahead 0-9. The Comets were unable to score in the bottom of the sixth, and in the top of the seventh the Bearcats scored another 4 runs. In the bottom of the seventh the Comets only scored 1 run, and the Bearcats took the game 1-13.

On Sunday in the third game, the Comets were down 1-2 in the bottom of the sixth. Crichton scored 6 runs this inning to make the score 7-2. In the top of the seventh inning the Bearcats were only able to score 1 run and at the end of seven the score was 7-3 in favor of the Comets. The Comets were able to hold the Bearcats to no runs in the eighth and ninth inning and pulled off the win 7-3.

Next up the Comets take on McKendree University. The Comets will play a three game series beginning Friday, February 22 at 2:00pm and then again on Saturday, February 23 at 1:00pm. Friday's game is 1-9 inning game and they will play 2-7 inning games on Saturday.
