Memphis, TN, February 19, 2008 –
The Crichton College Baseball team took on Harding University today at home in a double header.
By the bottom of the forth inning the Comets had a 4 run lead on the Bisons scoring 1 run in the second on a homer by Daniel Greer, 2 in the third and 1 in the forth. The Bisons finally got on the board in the top of the sixth scoring 1 run, but it was too little too late. The Comets won the first game 4-1.
In the second game, the score was tied up 1-1 at the end of two innings of play. In the top of the third inning, the Bisons scored 2 runs to go ahead 1-3. The Bisons would score another run in the top of the forth, but the Comets would answer back scoring 2 runs of their own with Turner Barnes and D.J Merriwether both scoring. The Comets put 2 more runs on the board in the bottom of the fifth inning when Matt Gore scored off a pitcher's balk and Turner Barnes would score off a wild throw. At the end of five inning the Comets led 5-4. The Bisons would come back and tie the game up in the sixth inning. At the end of seven, the score was still tied and the game would go into extra innings. The Comets held the Bisons in the top of the eighth inning and in the bottom of the eighth the Comet, Zach Mays would score on Daniel Greer's single hit to right field. The Comets would win the second game in extra innings 6-5.

Next up the Comets
take on McKendree University. The Comets will play a three game series beginning Friday, February 22 at 2:00pm and then again on Saturday, February 23 at 1:00pm. Friday's game is 1-9 inning game and they will play 2-7 inning games on Saturday.
