Memphis, TN, February 9, 2008 – The Crichton College Baseball
team played their second and third
games of the season against Williams Baptist College in a Saturday
afternoon double header. In the first game the
Comets jumped out to a 6-0 first inning lead, but that wasn't enough. The Comets would score a run in the second, and 7 runs in the third inning making the score 14-0. Williams Baptist was finally able to put a run on the board in the top of the forth, but it would prove to be to little to late. The Comets scored 3 more runs in the bottom of the forth, and Williams Baptist was unable to score in the top of the fifth ending the game with a score of 17-1.
In the second game, there was no score through the first two innings. The Comets finally got on the board scoring 1 run in the bottom of the third. Williams Baptist would come back to score 5 runs in the top of the forth inning but the Comets answered with 4 runs of their own. At the end of 4 innings, the score was tied up 5-5, but Williams Baptist got their bats working and scored 6 runs in the top of the fifth. The Comets were unable to put any more runs on the board and the game would end with Williams Baptist winning 11-5.

Next up the Comets
travel to Jackson, MS to take on Belhaven College on Tuesday, February 12 and Wednesday, February 13. Both games start at 4:00 pm.
