April 24-25, Jackson, TN –
The Crichton College Baseball team lost thier three game series on the road in Jackson, TN against the Bulldogs of Union University. In the first game, the Bulldogs took an early lead scoring 1 run in the third and 4 in the fourth inning. The Comets didn't get on the board until the top of the fifth inning when Nick Gardner scored off a double hit by Daniel Greer. The Comets would score again in the top of the sixth inning when Terry Reed hit a double to left field allowing Preston Burleson to score. The Bulldogs would go on to win the first game by a score of 2-5.
In the second game, the Bulldogs got their bats going again and by the end of the fifth inning, the Bulldogs were ahead by a score of 0-9. The Comets got on the board in the top of the seventh inning scoring 3 runs. Daniel Greer scored when he hit a homerun deep into left field, and then Dustin Young hit a two run homer to make the final score 3-9 in favor of the Bulldogs.
In the third game, the Comets got on the board early and by the end of the third inning the score was all tied up 3-3. The Comets scored a run in the top of the fifth inning, but the Bulldogs came back and scored 5 runs in the bottom of the fifth to go ahead of the Comets 4-8. The Bulldogs would score 3 more runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. In the top of the eighth inning the Comets scored 1 run, but it wasn't enough, and the Bulldogs would defeat the Comets in the final game of the series by a score of 5-12.
