Athens, TN, February 15-16, 2008  – The Crichton College Baseball team traveled to Athens, TN to take on the Bulldogs of Tennessee Wesleyan College. In the Friday game, the Comets jumped out to an early 2 run lead. In the bottom of the forth inning, the Bulldogs got on the board scoring 4 runs and taking the lead. The Comets would score again in the sixth and eighth innings, but the Bulldogs would continue to keep their bats going scoring 3 more runs in the seventh and eighth innings. The Bulldogs would defeat the Comets 7-4 in the first game of the three game series.

In the second game, played on Saturday, the Comets were unable to get their bats going when they needed to scoring only 2 runs in the game with those coming in the second inning. The Bulldogs scored 6 runs in the second game. Tennessee Wesleyan scored 2 runs in the first, 2 in the second, one in the forth, and 1 in the sixth to give them the win. Final score of the second game was 6-2 in favor of the Bulldogs.

In the third and final game of the series, the Bulldogs again jumped out to an early lead scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the first. The Comets came back and scored a run in the top of the third and fifth innings, but the Bulldogs never gave up and scored 1 run in the fifth and 1 in the sixth to give them the win and allow them to sweep the series. The final score of the third game was 5-2 Bulldogs.
