Memphis, TN, April 8, 2008  – The Crichton College Baseball team took on the Lynx of Rhodes College last night at Gagliano Field. There was no score in the game until Rhodes got on the board in the top of the third inning scoring 2 runs. The Comets answered back in the bottom of the third when Dustin Young homered to left field. In the top of the fourth inning, the Lynx scored 4 runs, but Crichton answered scoring off of Cody Bumpus' 3 run homer. At the bottom of the fourth the score was 4-6 in favor of the Lynx. The Lynx would score 3 runs in the top of the fifth and 1 in the top of the sixth with Crichton scoring 1 run in the bottom of the fifth when Dustin Young scored off a double hit by Turner Barnes and then again in the bottom of the sixth when Matt Gore singled to left field bringing Cody Bumpus in. At the end of six innings the score was 6-9, Rhodes. In the top of the seventh inning the Lynx scored 7 runs, and the Comets were unable to answer. The game ended at the end of seven innings with the Rhodes defeating Crichton by a score of 16-6.

Next up the Comets travel to Jackson, TN to take on the Eagles of Lambuth Univeristy in a three game series that starts Friday, April 11and runs through Saturday, April 12. Game times are 2:00pm on Friday and 12:00pm on Saturday for the double-header.
