March 28-29 , Memphis TN  – The Crichton College Baseball team took on the Cougars of Mid-Continent University in a three game series this weekend. In the first game, the Comets got on the board early scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the first inning. They would score another run again in the bottom of the third to make the score 3-0. The score would stay 3-0 with the Cougars unable to get any hits until the bottom of the sixth inning when the Comets would come alive again and score 3 runs. At the end of six innings of play the Comets would lead the Cougars 6-0. In the bottom of the seventh inning Terry Reed would add to the score hitting his sixth homerun of the season. At the end of seven innings of play the Comets led the Cougars 7-0, and that would be the final score as the Comets held the Cougars to no runs. Chris Garrett allowed only 2 hits through 9 innings of play.

In the second game, the Cougars scored first in with 2 runs in the top of the first. In the bottom of the third inning the Comets got going and scored 4 runs. The first run came off a homerun by Turner Barnes. Then the Comets would score two more runs came off a single by Preston Burlison bring D.J. Merriwether and Nick Gardner across the plate. The final run of the inning was scored off a wild pitch allowing Cory Chance to score. At the end of three innings of play the Comets led the Cougars 4-2. In the bottom of the fourth inning, rain would delay play for an hour and a half. When play resumed, the Comets were at bat, and they would score 2 runs. Dustin Young scored off a single by Turner Barnes, and Mays scored off a single to left field by Nick Gardner. The Comets were up 6-2. The Cougars were unable to answer in the final innings and the Comets would defeat the Cougars in the second game by a score of 6-2.

In the third game, the Comets would get on the board in the bottom of the first inning with Turner Barnes second homerun of the series. The would score again in the bottom of the second inning when Terry Reed scored off a sacrifice fly hit by John David Beane. The score would stay 2-0 Comets until the bottom of the fourth inning when the Comets would score 1 run off hits by John David Beane, 2 runs off a wild throw by the Cougars pitcher, 1 run off a single by Turner Barnes, 1 run came across the plate when the Mid-Continent pitcher balked, 1 run off a single up the middle by Nick Gardner, 2 runs off Greer's double to left, 1 run off of a single by Tomasetti, and 2 runs scored off Mays' single to left field for a total of 11 runs. At the end of four innings of play the Comets led the Cougars 13-0. The Cougars were unable to score in the top of the fifth and the game would end with the Comets defeating the Cougars 13-0.
