Comets Drop Two Today Against Freed-Hardeman

Memphis, TN, March 15, 2008  – The Crichton College Baseball team took on the LIons of Freed-Hardeman University at home today. In the first game, neither team ever really got their bats going. At the end of 4 innings of play, the score was tied up 1-1. There would be no runs scored until the top of the eighth inning when the Lions would score to end the game. In eight innings of play, the Comets were defeated by the Lions by a score of 1-2.

In the second game, the Lions scored a ryb after a wild throw by Wright put a runner in scoring position. In the top of the third inning, the Lions would score again when a wild pitch by Davis put a runner in scoring position. The runner scored on the next batted ball making the score 0-2, Lions. The Comets finally got on the board in the bottom of the fourth inning when D.J. Merriwether scored off a double hit by Terry Reed making the score 1-2, but the Comets were unable to score again. The Lions would defeat the Comets in game 2 by a score of 1-2.
