Lebanon, TN, March 9, 2008  – The Crichton College Baseball team took took to the road this weekend to take on the Bulldogs of Cumberland University. Game 1 was cancelled due to snow on Saturday, but the Comets were able to get the double header in on Sunday. In the first game, the Comets defeated the Bulldogs by a score of 5-0.

In the second game, the Comets scored 1 run in the first inning and 1 in the second, but the Bulldogs were able to come back and score 2 runs in the bottom of the second to tie the game. Preston Burleson hit a homerun in the bottom of the third inning to put the Comets ahead 3-2. There were no runs scored by either side in the forth inning, but in the bottom of the fifth inning the Bulldogs scored 2 runs to take the lead 3-4. In the top of the sixth, the Comets scored 2 runs to go ahead 5-4. Comets held the Bulldogs in the bottom of the sixth and seventh to get the win with a score of 5-4.
