February 19 , 2008 – The Crichton College Lady Softball team opened their season today against the Lady Eagles of Williams Baptist College. In the first game, the score was 0-0 until the seventh inning. In the top of the seventh, the Lady Eagles scored 4 runs. After they scored 2 runs, one of them being socred on an error by Ashley Smith, the Lady Comets changed pitchers. Cassie White came in for Sierra Colthrap and Colthrap moved to first base. White was called for a bulk which brought in another run. Lady Eagle, Heather Burnside hit a double to left-center allowing another Lady Eagle to score. The game ended with the final score of 0-4 in favor of Williams Baptist.

In the second game, there was no score until the Lady Comets gave up a run in the top of the forth inning. They would come back to score in the bottom of the fifth when the Lady Eagles would walk Ashley Coffman and a wild throw would allow Brittany Enochs to score. The Lady Comets were unable to hold the Lady Eagles allowing them to score 1 run in the sixth inning and 4 in the seventh. The Lady Comets were defeated by the Lady Eagles in the second game 1-7.
