April 24 , 2008 – The Lady Comets softball team took on the Lady Wildcats of Bethel College today in a double header. In the first game, the score was all tied up at the end of three innings of play 2-2, but in the top of the fifth inning the Lady Wildcats went ahead when they scored off a Lady Comet error going ahead 2-3. In the top of the sixth inning the Lady Comets had 3 errors and the Lady Wildcats took advantage scoring 5 runs. The Lady Comets came back in the bottom of the seventh inning and scored 3 runs, but the Lady Wildcats would get the win. The final score of the first game was 5-8.

In the second game, the Lady Wildcats got on the board in the top of the first inning scoring 2 runs. The score would remain 0-2 until the bottom of the third inning when the Lady Comets would get their bats going and score 7 runs. The score would remain 7-2 until the bottom of the fifth inning when the Lady Comets would bring another run across the plate making the score 8-2. Crichton would score 1 more run in the bottom of the sixth holding the Lady Wildcats to only 2 runs through 6 innings of play. Neither team would score in the seventh inning and the Lady Comets would defeat the Lady Wildcats by a score of 9-2.

Next up, the Lady Comets take on the Lady Trojans of Trevecca Nazarene University in a double header Saturday, April 25, at Tobey Field. First game starts at 2:00pm.
