Jackson TN – September 9, 2005 - It took extra time for the Lady Comets to register the first win of their inaugural season.  In the eighth minute of the first overtime period, Renee Blanchard dropped the game winning goal that gave her not only the first score of her career, but also the lady comets first conference win and the first career win for head coach Jeff Lean. Lean could not have picked a better time to register his first win, as it came at the hands of his alma mater and local rival, Union University.  It was a hard fought game that saw 18 fouls, one yellow card, and multiple injuries.  In spite of the physical play, the lady comets battled through the end of regulation and finally put the game away in overtime.  The win improves Crichton’s record to 1-1-1, giving them a 1-0 record in conference play.

Next up the Lady Comets will travel to Henderson TN on Friday September 16 for a match with the 1-3-1 Freed Hardeman University Lady Lions. Kick off is at 4PM.
