May 11, 2005 –
Megan Sample of Dickson, Tennessee has signed to play
her college soccer with Crichton College. Sample is
currently a senior at Dickson County High School with a
3.7 GPA and was named to “Who’s Who Among American High
School Students,” and will enter Crichton this fall.
Sample, a 5-foot-3 midfielder, has been a member of
Harpeth Futbol Club’s 87 for the past three years, a
Division 1 powerhouse based out of Nashville. She has
also played for her school team, Dickson County High
School, the past four years. In addition to her playing
career, Sample has refereed for the past six years and
began coaching soccer in 2002, both middle school and
club, and has earned her Tennessee Soccer “E” Coaching
License. She is also a member of Fellowship of Christian
Athletes.
“We
are thrilled to bring in a player the quality of Megan
to our first year soccer program here at Crichton,” said
Head Coach Jeff Lean. “She had been offered spots at the
NCAA Division 1 level, however we are very excited that
she chose to play her soccer here with the Lady Comets
and expect that she will make an immediate impact.”
