Practice & Performances
All dance team functions are mandatory: Functions are defined as games, practices, fundraisers, public appearances, etc. If you miss a function without permission from the Coach, you will be dismissed from the team immediately.

The ONLY reasons for missing a function:
-Sickness: with doctor’s excuse for the day missed
-Death in the family
-Sickness in immediate family.

Bad attitudes are NOT tolerated. You will receive one warning for your attitude, if it continues you will be dismissed from the team. Leave your personal problems at home, this includes with team members or otherwise. To be successful, we must function as one unit…a family.

Rehearsal dates and times will be determined by the Coach.

If a member is absent from the last practice prior to a performance, the member will be suspended from the performance.

The Coach will conduct rehearsals.

Upon approval, the Captain may conduct practice.

Additional rehearsals may be called by the Coach or Captain if needed.

Dance attire is to be worn for rehearsal.

Jewelry may not be worn at rehearsals or performances. Dancers may wear a watch during rehearsals.

Sometimes a member may not perform at an event. Reasons for not performing might include; but are not limited to, the following:
-Missing the last practice prior to a performance.
-Not knowing the routine.
-Injury.
-Uncooperative attitude.

All music will be either selected or approved by the Coach.

All performance numbers will be choreographed by the Coach.

Team members may assist with the choreography upon approval.

If any member exceeds 5 missed practices per semester, she will be dismissed from the team.

Members must contact the Captain at least one hour before practice if she will be absent. If she fails to do so, she will be charged $5.

Tardiness will not be tolerated. Members must contact the Captain if she will be late to practice. Excessive tardiness will result in dismissal from the squad.

Missing a performance or fundraising event will count as two absences.

Coming late or leaving early from practice counts as half an absence.

Attendance at rehearsals and performances will determine returning member status, as well as the privilege to perform.

Being a member of the Crichton Danstars and performing is a privilege, not your right. You are responsible for your own achievements and improvements.
