What is the Crichton College Annual Fund?

The Annual Fund is the annual giving program for Crichton College. It serves as a mechanism through which alumni, parents of current and former Crichton students, friends of the College and others may make gifts each year in support of Crichton, its academic programs, and its deserving students. This Fund is vitally important to the College because it serves as a financial "life-line" for each year's operating costs. Thankfully, this annual giving program has been in place for many years assisting the College in balancing its annual budget.

Why does Crichton College need an Annual Fund?

The answer is simple. The tuition and fees that Crichton students pay only cover a portion of what it actually costs the College to provide education for them. And as a private institution, Crichton College is not subsidized with public tax dollars such as state universities are. Nor do we receive operational support from any sponsoring denomination. Crichton therefore relies upon gifts from individuals and other private sources to help provide the additional funding necessary to provide access to a Christian College education.

How will the College use my Annual Fund gift?

Every gift to the Annual Fund is used for the unrestricted support of the College and helps meet day-to-day financial commitments required to make a Christ-centered liberal arts education available to Crichton’s 1,090 current students. Your Annual Fund gift will help provide student scholarships, buy teaching software, buy resource materials for the library, support student development activities, maintain facilities, and meet other pressing needs.

How do I give to the Annual Fund?

Simply send your gift to the Development Office at Crichton College. Checks should be made payable to the College and marked "Annual Fund." Gifts in the form of stocks, bonds, securities or other property may also be given.

Are Annual Fund gifts income tax-deductible?

Yes. Crichton College has been approved by the Internal Revenue Service as fully qualified to receive tax-deductible charitable gifts.

Matching Gifts

Your gift to Crichton College can be doubled or even tripled if your employer provides matching gifts for contributions to higher education. Since each company manages its own program and has its own forms, please contact your personnel or benefits office for more information.
