- Federal Stafford Loan: Stafford Loans, subsidized and unsubsidized, are available to qualified applicants through the federal Direct Loan program. The interest rate is variable, but caps at 8.25% (Beginning July 1, 2006, the interest rate becomes fixed at 6.8%). Repayment begins six months after graduating or dropping below half-time enrollment status.
- Parent Loans for Undergraduate Students (PLUS): PLUS allows parents to borrow the difference between cost of education at Crichton and the financial aid the student receives during the year. The interest is variable, but caps at 9.00% (Beginning July 1, 2006, the interest rate becomes fixed at 8.5%).
- Federal Perkins Loan: This federal program, administered by Crichton, enables students to borrow money to help finance their college expenses. The interest rate is fixed at 5%, and the interest is paid by the government while the student is enrolled at least half-time. Repayment begins nine months after graduating or dropping below half-time enrollment status.
