Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics
The Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics seeks to engage students in the process of inquiry associated with exploring the nature of the world through both rational and experimental investigation. Our collaborative inquiry is shaped by a concern for the harmony between well-confirmed scientific facts, principles, and theories and God’s truth as revealed in Scripture as well as a firm commitment to moral integrity in the practices and applications of science (technology) and mathematics in every aspect of life.
As a result of study in the Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics students
will demonstrate:
- Improvement in quantitative skills, in problem solving, and in scientific analysis,
- Improvement in the preparation and presentation of quantitative and scientific work,
- An improved understanding of quantitative and scientific methods and the content of various fields of scientific and mathematical inquiry,
- A maturing awareness of the interplay between Christian faith and the practices,
applications, and content of natural science, and
- A successful application of skill and knowledge enhanced through study in
mathematics and natural sciences in appropriate vocations or continued study.
