  • Richard Bausch, author of 10 novels and 7 volumes of short stories was here at Crichton College reading from his latest novel (Thanksgiving Night, pub by Harper Collins) in Professor John Walker's American Literature class on Wednesday, December 13, 5:30 pm.  Bausch is considered one of the foremost writers in American Lit today.  His work has appeared in the New Yorker, The Atlantic Monthly, Esquire, GQ, and Harper's Magazine.  He has received an O. Henry Award, and the PEN/Malamud Award for Excellence in the Short Story.
     
  • In July 2006, Dr. Keith Callis traveled to Oxford, England, to present an essay exploring the link between the loss of higher forms of literacy, the ascendance of science, and a broad decline in the general quality of intellectual and social life in the U.S.  [read more...]
