The History of Crichton College
Crichton was founded in 1941 and named for a former professor and president, Dr. James B. Crichton.
The college began as a Bible training center, later expanded to become a Bible Institute and finally became a four-year Bible College in 1960.
In 1986, the college was accredited as a liberal arts college by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
Crichton continues to expand its intellectual offering in order to meet the dynamic and ever changing needs of its student body and surrounding community.
