Accreditation and Academic Standing

Crichton College is accredited to award Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

Crichton College is chartered by the State of Tennessee and approved by the State Department of Education for the training of veterans and their dependents and by the State Board of Education for teacher education licensure and by the State Department of Vocational Rehabilitation.

The college is listed by the United States Department of Justice for training foreign students. Crichton is a member of the American Library Association, Association of Christian Librarians, Service Members Opportunity Colleges, the Tennessee Library Association, and the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO).

The college is also listed in the current edition of Transfer Credit Practices of Designated Educational Institutions and the United States Office of Education's "Education Directory" Crichton College is a member both of the Council of Christian Colleges and Universities and of the Council of Independent Colleges
